Web design for Cerería Subirà

This was a group project that involved designing the web experience for a landmark site in the city of Barcelona. I was responsible for the UI design and creating the micro interactions. Collaborating with my team, we collectively decided to create the website for Cerería Subirà, a candle shop that has been open in the city since 1761.

Our redesign proposal focuses on preserving the authenticity of the candle shop while introducing significant improvements to the digital experience. We emphasize candle customization, clear workshop information, and the captivating history of the candle shop in our proposal.

In summary, our approach aims to merge the history and tradition of Cerería Subirà with a modern and accessible digital presence, thereby creating a comprehensive and engaging experience for users.

Research

We conducted preliminary research with our users in mind, including interviews and surveys that helped us understand their needs. This process led us to create three user profiles, which facilitated the development of a solution through our website redesign proposal.

Information Architecture

UI Kit

We created a UI kit with all the visual elements of the website such as colors, fonts, components, microinteractions, etc. By selecting the following button, you will be able to view the complete UI kit from Figma.

Wireframes Design

We have designed three flows for each of our users: those who want to learn about the history of the place, those who want to create their own candle, and those who are interested in participating in one of the workshops offered by the candle shop.

Conócenos

In the "Conócenos" section, we aim to present the history of the place in an attractive and dynamic way. To achieve this, we use typographic hierarchies and select various eye-catching images related to candles. Additionally, we incorporate physical elements from the store, such as statues and the black-and-white checkered floor.

Talleres

In the “Talleres” section, we decided to create a section where users can choose the workshop they want through a more personalized search engine, or they can explore the available workshops and select the one that interests them the most. On the information page of each workshop, users will find images and relevant information about what the workshop entails, and they can book it through a pop-up calendar.

Crea tu Vela

In the "Crea tu Vela" section, we decided to offer two options: large and small. After the user chooses the candle size, we redirect them to a page where they can customize their candle. We opted to implement an accordion that allows organizing multiple elements and facilitates the user to go back in case they want to make any changes to their previous selection. Once they finish customizing their candle, they will be taken to another page with a summary of what they have chosen.
